NTU BioQuest 2007

Bioquest is the biomedical research-cum-business plan competition, organized by a group of students from School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE)  of  Nanyang Technological University. This is our first ever competition and it is hoped that it will be an annual event. The event will take place from January 2007 to August 2007 in NTU. Participating teams are expected to write a Research report-cum-Business Plan on their chosen topic.  The main event will be a meeting place for students, scientists, entrepreneurs and other parties interested in contributing to the Biomedical Sciences sector. In 2007, the Bioquest event will take place on 12 May in Nanyang  Technological University, Singapore.The programme of the event includes keynote speeches, presentations by the students and discussion of various topics by speakers from the various companies. The most important aspect of the event would be presentation of awards to the best teams that have performed well in the entire process of competition.The event will also feature a separate exhibition, whereby companies will be displaying their products and advertise the various services they offer. 

Objective :

1. Link the research work to the industries in Singapore.
2. Recognition of research work done in NTU.

3. Instill an application oriented thinking in students.

4. To provide students with hands-on experience in actual research.

5. Provide a platform to students to come up with a Business Plan with relations to Biomedical engineering.
6. Create a sense of responsibility towards society and a greater understanding about the role of technology in society.
